SEED - Open Source & Deep Learning

By Audio Pervert - 5/24/2022

Launched last year, SEED is now offering two converging ways of learning, as online and as an upcoming residency, dedicated to Ecology, Music and Autonomy. New features and open-source pages have been added as "new seeds of transition". Interactive education and peer reviewed information that allows for interdisciplinary growth, with the aim to build better ecosystems. Lets take a brief look about the formation and building blocks offered by SEED for artists and innovators from India. Or just visit the website and sign up!

As a group of artists, innovators and pros from India converge towards a new direction, that combines music, autonomy and ecology, the question we ask is why and how? The objective is to empower young artists and innovators from India. Create 'progressive and inclusive environments' where sustainable lifestyles, careers, culture and ways of thinking can happen. And frankly speaking, in India (about 7% of the global youth population) such places are far and few."We will be offering up to 10 online modules, spanning 200 hours of open-source learning through 2022. The current objective is to empower and engage the membership (72 members as of now) to form micro communities, that go on to participate at the upcoming residency. In formation right now, we foresee about 25 to 30 participants working across fields of ecology, music and autonomy, with the mentors, to present and launch a range of new interventions and practices...The initial framework is made for a small resilient impact, which will grow organically into a scaled democratic movement." states the PR note by Applied Sound & Ecology. The about page explains further.

What's under the hood? For those interested in Ecology, the mentors present the subject as "a vast area of learning, rehabilitation and celebration! At SEED we believe that ecology is key to preserve and protect our ecosystems. A resilient and well informed individual makes better long term decisions, leading towards a stable future. Create active interventions, activism and advocacy with open-source practices and guidance"

For those aiming at Music, SEED states that "music by nature is autonomous, androgynous amorphous! This sets music apart from the other arts, which rely upon the outside world, external perspectives. However, music is also an universal language, which unites people. Music embodies relationships, experiences, communities and commonly shared cultures ... How we utilize and navigate these aspects of music..."

For those interested in creating Autonomy "...is key, to ensure a society that is progressive and independent. Central to this motivation, is the transition to autonomous states and economies. While doing so, we move away from the previous paradigms of an hyper-competitive market and an exploitation based economy".

Post sign-up, a member can access the above disciplines and all the open-source pages, archives and newsletters. Participate in micro-community action or learn individually. The learn page is public access, offering introductory modules for all and absolutely free!
