Quiet Someone is a collection of emerging electronic sound by four Bengali
artists, based in India and as diaspora. Though there
is nothing audibly 'bengali' about the sound or aesthetics of Quiet Someone, the artists and their
cultural lineage is surely connected to Bengal. The artists living in three
distant parts of the world, however Bengali. Bound by language, and not
traditions, the objective was to record a Bengali Proto_Sound. None classical trappings or haunted nostalgia. The four artists, re-interpret one 'undisclosed composition' but in four audibly disparate tangents. Curated by
Audio Pervert, the EP is a 'pan-bangla' link between Spain, India and U.S. Set
against a seething roaring zeitgeist, we invite you to listen to 'Quiet
Someone'.

"Though I was not born in Bengal, but going back there to my parent's community gave me a feeling, that the place signifies great history as well as great decay and wither..." states Jadu Tona, based in Philadephia, working anonymously as a 'ghost producer'. Given that electronic music and traditional bengali society seldom or never collide, both remaining on opposite ends, at the fringe, as mainstream (no-brain zombie media) dominates the airwaves, television, radio and billboards. Long gone is the 'poetic and revolutionary' spirit of the average bengali. They blame globalisation, yet unwilling to change. The city rots under the huge ugly billboards, replete with images of consumption, bank loans and fake privilege. Yet sometimes, the underground comes out of it's covert presence, as music, as sound, as reaction and as noise. This time as, Quiet Someone.
